Building the Perfect NBA FanDuel Lineup For Feb. 22

As we enter the back nine of the NBA season, FanDuel fantasy basketball should be incredibly interesting over the next few months. We witnessed chaos at the trade deadline, which should lead to a wild week as the dust settles. Now, join me in building the perfect lineup for Feb. 22.

Out of all the trade deadline madness that occurred this week, Isaiah Thomas landing with the Boston Celtics was the move that most intrigued me. Boston lacks a pure dominant scorer and needs buckets from the PG spot as constructed. Marcus Smart is not going to prevent IT3 from playing 30 minutes a game, as Evan Turner will head back to the wing. Starting or not, Thomas should drop a gem against the putrid Los Angeles Lakers.

PG - Rajon Rondo - Dallas Mavericks - $5,700

Rajon Rondo has struggled since returning from injury, but will undoubtedly snap out of this slump sooner or later and give you a slate changing performance at this outrageously low $5,700 price tag. If playing Rondo gives you a panic attack, I cannot argue with playing Mo Williams in this spot since he is similarly priced and had a stellar debut with the Charlotte Hornets on Saturday. Perhaps playing one with each makes the most sense.

SG - Avery Bradley - Boston Celtics - $5,500

Avery Bradley scored 28 points on the floor, and either hit or approached 50 fantasy points depending on site this past Friday against the Sacramento Kings, who are nearly as bad of a defensive team as the Los Angeles Lakers squad Boston sees in this one. Until proven otherwise, I firmly believe the Isaiah Thomas acquisition will affect Evan Turner's value, while Bradley's will not change. I wouldn't expect another 50 FP, but 5x value at minimum.

SG - Monta Ellis - Dallas Mavericks - $6,800

The Dallas Mavericks have not looked like a championship caliber team as of late, but don't let that assuage your temptation for firing up their affordable backcourt options on FanDuel. Monta Ellis has an ideal matchup against the Charlotte Hornets, who rank eighth worst in the NBA at allowing production to shooting guards. Ellis will see 35 minutes no matter what happens, and should score the ball a ton with Chandler Parsons out.

SF - Draymond Green - Golden State Warriors - $7,000

Draymond Green is perhaps the definition of 'maddeningly inconsistent fantasy option', as over his last five games, he's accumulated 20, 13, 3, 13 and six rebounds respectively, while scoring 12, 20, 4, 3 and 11 points on the floor. It really doesn't get more random than that, but one thing is for certain, he has a solid matchup against the lowly Indiana Pacers and will see 30-plus minutes. This makes his upside hard to ignore.

SF - Al-Farouq Aminu - Dallas Mavericks - $4,800

As I write this, Chandler Parsons is listed as out for the Dallas Mavericks, which means, barring an unforeseeable catastrophe, Al-Farouq Aminu should start at SF and see 30 minutes against the Charlotte Hornets. While the Hornets have been solid at defending the wing this season, they lack defensive integrity in the backcourt, which could mean double teams sent Monta Ellis' way on occasion, leaving Aminu in ideal scoring scenarios.

PF - LaMarcus Aldridge - Portland Trail Blazers - $9,300

I'm a huge fan of playing Zach Randolph in almost every cash game lineup I can this season, but for just $800 more in salary and averaging 6.5 more fantasy points per game, I coundn't turn down the opportunity to roster LaMarcus Aldridge at home. This game should be higher scoring than most will anticipate initially, and being that it will stay close, LMA should be good for his typical 35-plus minutes and 40-plus fantasy points.

PF - Nerlens Noel - Philadelphia 76ers - $6,500

To absolutely no one's surprise, the Philadelphia 76ers traded away their best player again this season (PG Michael Carter-Williams) and left the remainder of their roster a barren D-League wasteland, laden with inadequacy and 10-day contracts. However, if there is a silver lining to come out of Philly's playbook, it's that Nerlens Noel responded with a monster 45 fantasy point, nine block performance on Friday.

C - Al Jefferson - Charlotte Hornets - $8,300

Al Jefferson has essentially been in beast mode since Kemba Walker went down for the Charlotte Hornets, and undoubtedly sets up nicely to do so again against Tyson Chandler of the Dallas Mavericks (who many wrongly think shuts down opposing centers). Dallas is 11th worst at giving up production to the position, which leads me to believe that Big Al is one his way to another 40-plus fantasy point performance.
