There are seven games on the NBA slate for the first Monday of March. There are a lot of great players to choose from and several of them have exploitable matchups. Here’s one of the many ways to build the perfect FanDuel lineup for tonight’s action. Let’s get to work.
(PG) Stephen Curry - Golden State Warriors - $10,900
Getty ImagesSteph Curry destroyed the Orlando Magic in their last matchup to the tune of 68.4 fantasy points. He gets to face them again tonight after suffering an embarrassing loss to the Los Angeles Lakers yesterday. Orlando is ranked 23rd against PGs in March, and it should lead to a 50-plus night for Curry.
(PG) Elfrid Payton - Orlando Magic - $5,600
Getty ImagesElfrid Payton is averaging 29.6 fantasy points over his last five games and seems to have settled into a nice groove. He needs to score 28 in order to make value tonight, and I feel that he will surpass that with 30-plus.
(SG) Nicolas Batum - Charlotte Hornets - $6,500
Getty ImagesAlthough he is listed as an SG, Nicolas Batum is actually starting at SF for the Charlotte Hornets. This is important to know since his opponent, the Minnesota Timberwolves, don't defend SFs well. They're ranked 25th so far this month in that area, and I can see Batum exploiting that for 35-plus fantasy points.
(SG) Andrew Wiggins - Minnesota Timberwolves - $6,100
Getty ImagesDue to Zach LaVine now starting at SG, Andrew Wiggins is the starting SF for the Minnesota Timberwolves. This bodes well for his matchup against the Charlotte Hornets since they've struggled to contain SFs recently. They're ranked 27th against the position this month and I can it leading to a 30-plus night for Wiggins.
(SF) Giannis Antetokounmpo - Milwaukee Bucks - $8,700
Getty ImagesGiannis Antetokounmpo has been outplaying everyone in the NBA recently. He is averaging 56.4 fantasy points over his last four, and draws a great matchup against the Chicago Bulls tonight. He scored 50-plus in his last game against the Bulls, and I can see him doing it again since Chicago struggles against SFs.
(SF) Harrison Barnes - Golden State Warriors - $4,500
Getty ImagesHarrison Barnes was a major disappointment in his last game as he only scored 10 fantasy points. However, I expect a nice bounce-back game for him against the Orlando Magic. Orlando has struggled all season to contain SFs, and I can see Barnes redeeming his last dud with at least 25 fantasy points. He might even flirt with 30-plus.
(PF) Jabari Parker - Milwaukee Bucks - $6,000
Getty ImagesJabari Parker will return to his hometown to face the Chicago Bulls, and it's a great spot for him. Chicago is ranked 22nd against opposing PFs for the month, and Parker is currently playing the best basketball of his young career. I see no reason for him to score less than 30 fantasy points, with the slight chance for 40-plus.
(PF) David Lee - Dallas Mavericks - $4,500
Getty ImagesThe Dallas Mavericks will face the Los Angeles Clippers tonight, and it's a great spot for David Lee. The Clippers haven't been able to defend PFs well since Blake Griffin has been on the shelf, and I expect Lee to take advantage of that. He scored 43.9 fantasy points in his last game, and he should be able to finish with a total between 25 and 35.
(C) Greg Monroe - Milwaukee Bucks - $7,200
Getty ImagesIn his last game against the Chicago Bulls, Greg Monroe scored 29.9 fantasy points in 28 minutes of action. He has played 30-plus minutes over his last two games and I expect that trend to continue tonight. Chicago is ranked 29th against centers this month, and it should lead to Monroe scoring 30-40 fantasy points.
