The fantasy NASCAR season is really picking up speed. We are already in March and the mid-season turn will be upon us in a matter of weeks. This weekend’s race will be at Phoenix International Raceway, and even though the race does see its share of wrecks each year, it almost always comes down to the final lap.
To help you pick the best fantasy foursome, here are five bold predictions for the 2016 Good Sam 500.
5. Matt Kenseth Won’t Crack Top-10

Kenseth doesn't exactly have a strong track record in Phoenix. He only has two top-10 finishes in the last 11 races on this track, including a dreadful 16th place finish last March. Kenseth is normally a solid mid-level fantasy pick, but the veteran should be avoided at all costs this Sunday.

Keselowski is coming off a much-needed win in Las Vegas last weekend. Even better, he has rattled off eight consecutive top-11 appearances on this track. Keselowski will be a popular first driver this weekend, and should have no problem finishing inside the top-10.

Logano struggled for years on this track. He was constantly finishing outside the top-20, and more often than not failed to finish the race altogether. Luckily, he has ripped off five straight top-10 finishes. in the desert. J-Lo will have another strong showing this weekend in Phoenix.

2. Kevin Harvick Won’t Win

Harvick has miraculously won in Phoenix in five of the last seven races, including back-to-back spring races. He has also led a staggering 855 laps over the last four races. However, his streak has to end at some point, and my money is on this weekend. He will still finish inside the top-10, but don't bet on him ending up in the winner's circle.

1. Jimmie Johnson Will End Long Drought

Johnson may have four career wins in Phoenix and an average finish of 7.72 throughout his career, but the superstar has been winless here in 11 consecutive races. Luckily, Johnson finished third in Vegas and won the race in Atlanta. He is currently in midseason form, and will end his long draught in the desert this Sunday.
