NHL Rumors: Buffalo Sabres Offer Shane Doan Four-Year Deal
Dennis Wierzbicki-US PRESSWIRE

The Shane Doan dilemma continues…

Remember back in July when a “mystery team” from the Eastern Conference made an offer like this for Doan? Well, it seems as if we have found that team.

ESPN’s John Buccigross reports that the Buffalo Sabres have joined the mix by offering Doan 4-year, $30 million deal. He then went on to say that the Phoenix Coyotes ”only want to go two years for now.”

According to The Fourth Period, the Sabres are still waiting to hear from Doan on the four-year offer they proposed last month.

Jeremy Roenick, who joined Josh Rimer on his XM Radio show on Monday, also hinted that a big offer from Buffalo could take place.

Jeremy Roenick also said that the Buffalo Sabres made a huge offer to Shane Doan, and as of right now he hasn't accepted it.

Doan has been giving the Coyotes extension after extension to resolve the management situation. You have to think a decision is imminent, right?

So far, Doan  has met with teams such as the  Philadelphia FlyersNew York Rangers, and Vancouver Canucks this off-season.

The veteran can still play, despite turning 36 year-old in October. He is a gritty, class act two-way forward who can provide a ton of leadership on any team, as well as a bit of an offensive touch.

Now we wait on a decision from the highly coveted free agent winger, though until the CBA talks progress or the ownership situation moves forward, it could be a while.

Sounds familiar, doesn’t it?
