The Chicago Blackhawks launched a new program for Fan Ambassador’s on Thursday in an attempt to spread word about team events, contests, blog posts and more using social networking sites. To kick off the program the Blackhawks have an autographed Patrick Sharp jersey available to the ambassador who receives the most points by the end of the allotted time. The site is setup to register the points based off of several different means, such as sharing your personal link to the site, which you will get once you sign up. This may be the easiest way to gain points as you won’t need to ask for anyone to sign up, however if they do sign up after clicking your personal link you’ll gain more points.
Other ways to receive points are adding a network to your profile, such as Twitter or Facebook, and by others liking or commenting on your link via Facebook, or retweeting it via Twitter. The incentive for the Blackhawks obviously would be everyone spreading the word and building the program, and in return fans have the opportunity to win great prizes. One would assume there will be monthly contests for the fans and it will definitely keep everyone coming back in hopes of winning an amazing prize. For those of you who may be skeptical about signing up or allowing access to your Facebook, Twitter and any other option you may choose, not to worry. The Blackhawks have stated that nothing will ever be shared on your Facebook page unless you agree to it. The program is designed to have you help get the word out, not for the Blackhawks to do it by use of your personal accounts.
