For those of you who don’t know what Mr. Irrelevant is let me explain. Mr. Irrelevant is a term used for the last player picked in the NFL draft. That player is nicknamed that because we all know the pick is totally irrelevant and chances are that player will not pan out in the NFL and that is the last time we hear of their name.
I think the NBA is becoming Mr. Irrelevant. The reason I say this is because it is starting to become the last thing on sports fan’s minds. I am not only a big Warriors fan but I am a NBA guy so one would think I am really going to miss the NBA. I have to be honest because of this lockout and knowing the NBA won’t be playing this year I don’t even think about it anymore. My mind is taken up with thoughts of the end of the baseball season, the start of the NFL and what will be shortly in the NHL. In fact I wonder more about what will happen in this seasons Arena Football League more than I wonder about what is going on in the lockout.
I don’t think I am the only NBA fan that feels this way. In fact I know I am not. There are several Warriors fans I know who feel the exact same way. I just wonder if David Stern realizes how much disinterest the NBA is gaining.
