VIDEO: Bubba Watson Rejects Billy Payne Handshake
Sunday was a great day for Bubba Watson. The American won his first major by winning the Masters and knocking off Louis Oosthuizen in a two hole playoff. Watson then had to go to his green jacket ceremony where the previous winner hands the jacket to the new winner. Augusta chairman Billy Payne was also there and he looked to shake Watson’s hand. Too bad Watson wasn’t having any of it.
It was a smooth move by Watson. He looked like he was going in to shake Payne’s hand and then quickly turned away. This left Payne looking like a fool and he quickly rescinded his hand. It’s not the first time that Payne has looked like a fool. His constant odd press conferences and the club’s rejection of every woman that wants to join keeps him in the media spotlight.
It was an entertaining Masters from start to finish. Seriously, this is one of the better ones in recent memory. It had all sorts of drama on Sunday, ranging from Watson making a charge to Phil Mickelson coming up short after having a meltdown on a par 3. Watson was able to stick with Oosthuizen, even when his drives were way off the mark.
Things are looking up for Watson. Outside of winning the Masters, he is still the owner of the General Lee. Yes, the real car from the Dukes of Hazzard. That is how cool Watson is. Add the green jacket and you have a golfer on the rise.
