NFL Combine: Andrew Luck Excited to Learn From Peyton Manning as an Indianapolis Colts
The 2012 NFL combine is now underway and the news is fairly quiet. The quarterbacks are scheduled to take the field tomorrow, and one thing we will not see is the two biggest prospects, Andrew Luck and Robert Griffin III, not taking part in throwing drills.
One thing they did do however, was wow in the interview process.
Luck took the podium and of course he was asked about the possibility of playing behind future Hall of Famer Peyton Manning, and his response couldn’t have been any more perfect. “Peyton was my hero growing up,β said Luck . βHeβs who I modeled myself after in high school and middle school. You never truly replace a guy like that.β
Both Andrew Luck and Robert Griffin III, talked about having the opportunity to learn behind Manning, and they both said they would be honored to hold his clipboard.
Every year Peyton Manning has his own quarterback camp where some of the best quarterbacks across the country come to learn from him, and Andrew Luck has been there for the last two years.
Indianapolis Colts Head Coach Coach Pagano also commented on the style of offense we are going to see this upcoming season. He mentioned that it will be more of a run first style very similar to the Pittsburgh Steelers.
If they are not saying it directly they are saying in other words, Manning will be replaced and one of these two rookies will take his spot.
