The struggling Jaguars will get one of their veteran leaders back on the field this Sunday when they play the Steelers in Pittsburgh.
After being listed probable on the injury report on Friday, the Jaguars coaching staff announced that defensive end Aaron Kampman will play for the first time this season this week.
Kampman is expected to play 15-20 snaps as the team is trying to ease him back from the ACL injury he suffered in practice last season. His presence on the field will be a welcome addition to a defense that has been solid so far this season, and should give a boost to an improving pass rush.
In other injury news, the Jaguars will be without special teams captain Montell Owens (knee) and starting linebacker Clint Session (elbow) on Sunday. They will also likely be without defensive back Derek Cox (groin) who was listed as doubtful on the Friday injury report.
Left tackle Eugene Monroe and special teams ace Kassim Osgood are listed as questionable for Sunday’s game and it remains unknown whether they will play.
