Jacksonville Jaguars Sign Defensive End Jeremy Mincey
The Jacksonville Jaguars ended the first day of free agency with a bang.
According to a report by Aaron Wilson of Scout.com, the Jaguars have come to terms on a new four-year contract with defensive end Jeremy Mincey.
Mincey, who led the Jaguars with eight sacks last season, was being hotly pursued by several teams this afternoon as perhaps the second best pass rusher on the free agent market behind Mario Williams. Not only was Mincey one of the Jaguars best defensive players last season, but he plays a position that the Jags would have been desperately thin at if he chose to depart.
The Jaguars have now locked up all of their own free agents that they had hoped to retain and can now turn their focus to other free agents. Preferably towards a wide receiver or two who can help Blaine Gabbert.
