The Butler Did It!: Royals Walk Off With 2-0 Win To Take Series
Despite the unfortunate outcome of Joakim Soria’s Memorial Day meltdown, the Kansas City Royals rebounded with a cool 7-3 win on Tuesday, thus finding themselves in position to flex their mighty home muscle and earn another series win.
In Wednesday’s rubber-match, an outstanding K.C. starting pitching debut for Felipe Paulino propelled big bopper Billy Butler to launch a 2-run walk-off home run that just crept its way over the left-field fence for a 2-0 victory!
Paulino & Tyler Chatwood traded scoreless frames on the mound, leaving it up to the bullpens to decide the contest. With Jeff Francoeur already on-base with a 9th-inning single, Butler put a charge into a Scott Downs offering, that was initially ruled a double, but overturned by the umpiring crew thanks to video review.
