Another one bites the dust.
Penn State loses one more commit from their 2013 class as wide receiver Will Fuller flipped his pledge to Notre Dame after taking an unofficial visit to South Bend. It was just a week after saying he was committed to the Nittany Lions that Fuller changed his mind to play for the Irish instead.
Fuller, a 6-foot-1, 170-pound wideout impressed at the New Level 7-on-7 National Championship in Brooklyn, New York earlier this summer and caught the eye of head coach Brian Kelly. Fuller was also receiving offers from Rutgers and Boston College but didn’t really partake in the recruiting experience after committing to PSU in early June. That was before the harsh sanctions were placed upon the school in Happy Valley.
Not so happy anymore.
As a junior last season, Fuller caught 46 passes for 758 yards and 10 touchdowns. Impressive numbers for only 46 catches. His raw body at 170-pouds will need to pack on some muscle to be able to battle off the line of scrimmage at the major college level.
Fuller becomes the 19th commitment for the Irish’s upcoming recruiting class and the third wide receiver of the group. The Irish have placed a heavy focus on the wideout position after the departure of the great Michael Floyd.
The Irish have a core of young WR’s who will see the field this season including speedster Davonte Neal.
Fuller is the third decommit from PSU’s 2013 class, which now totals at 11 commits.
Expect that number to shrink even more.
