In my last post I gave you Big Ten schools that got verbal commitments from Wisconsin high school football players for next fall. In this post I give you the best of the rest. Seniors who did not commit to Big Ten schools but have verbally committed to other schools in the country for next fall.
NORTH DAKOTA STATE BISON
Brad Ambrosius DE West De Pere- Ambosius is another one of the very talented defensive ends coming out of the 2013 class. He’s athletic, can get off the block fast, and very speedy to run down the ball carrier. Ambrosius has a knack for getting to the quarterback and will help out the number one team in the FCS up in Fargo.
Grant Morgan DE Oskosh North- The Bison were able to snag Morgan away from Central Michigan. Another very skilled defensive end, North Dakota State will be very pleased with Grant’s size and athleticism. Morgan and Ambrosius will be welcomed additions to an already talented Bison squad.
IOWA STATE CYCLONES
Jacob Homa OL Brookfield Central- The 6’5″ senior has a nice frame and at 270 pounds, is very quick and light on his feet. He is an excellent blocker and after the first line of defense, he goes down field to block for the runner and keeps blocking until the whistle blows. Jacob received several offers from across the country and I think the Cyclones will be a good fit as they look to build themselves up in a tough Big 12 Conference.
NORTHERN ILLINOIS HUSKIES
Shane Wimann TE Wisconsin Dells- The 6-foot-4 tight end will travel south to the Huskies. Wimann has caught 21 passes for 277 yards and four touchdowns in this young season. The Wisconsin Dells tight end also received offers from Central Michigan, Illinois State, North Dakota and North Dakota State but when the dust settled Wimann chose the MAC school that looks to improve on their overall offensive numbers.
WESTERN MICHIGAN BRONCOS
Connor Riese OL D.C. Everest- Although Riese will need to work on exploding off the snap, his size and athleticism more than makes up for that in the time being. The 6’6″ 310 pound senior likes to pancake defenders and is another offensive lineman that looks to get down the field into the second level.
BALL STATE CARDINALS
Steve Drida K Waukesha West- You better believe I’m giving some love to the kickers and this kicker is the real deal. Drida impressed last winter at the Midwestern Winter Showcase put on by Kohl’s Kicking Camp in the Wisconsin Dells. They rank Drida as a five-star kicker and also as the 13th best kicker in the 2013 class.
