Los Angeles Dodgers Star Matt Kemp Picks Up Right Where He Left Off
Matt Kemp had a monster 2011 campaign, which led to a monster contract, which led to some pretty monster predictions. Get where this is going? Matt Kemp started the 2012 season with a 2-5 day including a 2 run homer in the 8th inning, leading the Los Angeles Dodgers to a 5-3 win on Opening Day over the San Diego Padres in San Diego.
This is a great start for the Dodgers star, as they’re going to need him to have the same kind of year he did last year if they want to have a shot at winning the division. Nothing says great start with a homer and 3 RBI’s, that’s for sure.
It’s a lot of fun to see players focused, and Matt Kemp is just that. He’s poised to become not only the best player on the roster, but a leader and someone the young kids like speedsterDee Gordon can look up too. If Matt Kemp can control the locker room, and perform not he field like he’s capable, the Dodgers could certainly surprise a ton of people with contending in the NL West.
I don’t know if Matt Kemp will go 40 homers and 40 stolen bases this year, but it certainly can’t help to try right? My prediction is Matt Kemp will win the NL MVP this year, and once again- yesterday was a great start.
