Dwyane Wade and his ex-wife have been feuding for over 2 years now, and the Miami Heat star currently owns basically all supervision rights to his children. They are still in an ugly legal battle over money that has dragged on in court, and Wade claims his ex-wife uses the children as pawns in court.
TMZ reports Wade’s ex-wife was arrested last weekend in an attempt to abduct the children from Wade’s custody. Wade won primary custody in his divorce from the woman in 2010:
A rep for the Cook County Sheriffs Office released a statement saying, “Siohvaughn Funches-Wade was charged with two counts of attempted child abduction, two counts of unlawful visitation interference and one count of resisting arrest.”Funches-Wades bond was set at $10,000 … which she posted. Shes set to appear in court again in August.
Wade is about to step on the court to play game 4 of the NBA Finals against the Oklahoma City Thunder. I can’t help but think this might be on his mind just a tad bit. Wade has clearly been the better parent to his children, and this move by his ex pretty much solidifies that.
