Could Zack Greinke Sign a Contract Extension?
Milwaukee Brewers starting pitcher Zack Greinke has been working without an agent this past year but that does not mean a contract extension couldn’t happen at some point in the next couple months.
Greinke parted ways with Creative Artists Agency Sports after he was traded to the Brewers from the Kansas City Royals on December 17, 2010. Since Greinke is signed through this season he never felt rushed to find new representation. Not to mention the fact he enjoys being the captain of his own ship.
“I’ll talk to [the Brewers] about [an extension]. I don’t really want to talk to anyone else about it. But I like the business of baseball. It’s exciting for me. It’s not like I plan on being my agent, but it is exciting being able to know what’s going on behind the scenes.”
Greinke is a crucial piece to a team that has their eyes set on more than just a division title. Since several key players are still locked down for a few years, it is important to make Greinke a part of that so Milwaukee can take a couple stabs at a World Series run.
The Brewers won all 17 games at Miller Park, including two in the post-season, when Greinke took the mound. In 28 starts during the regular season, he went 16-6 with a 3.83 ERA with 201 strikeouts and 45 walks. His numbers declined in the post-season as he went 1-1 with a 6.48 ERA and 13 strikeouts in three appearances.
“Everything feels really good at the stadium and stuff, the team is great, and I love the whole coaching staff and front office, too,” said Greinke. “The owner [Mark Attanasio] is probably the best owner in baseball, maybe. He’s incredible.”
As long as he stays healthy through Spring Training and prepares himself well for the season things will continue to look up for Greinke and the Brewers.

well I do think he will stay only because of the off field issues he faces with comfort and anxiety and the brewers make him feel real comfortable if not for that i would say he would defiantly be going some where else you guys got lucky on this one
