Vikings Adrian Peterson In News Again Over $1 Million Dollars
The last time Minnesota Vikings running back Adrian Peterson made headlines over $1 Million Dollars, he was attempting to change his jersey number. On Thursday, it was for much more generous reasons.
It was announced in a press release that Peterson has donated $1 Million dollars to his alma mater, the University of Oklahoma. His donation will help fund the construction of ‘Headington Hall,’ which will be Oklahoma’s new student housing facility. In addition, it will start the ‘Adrian Peterson Football Scholarship Endowment.’
According to the report, Peterson’s donation is the largest from any former Oklahoma football player.
“This was something that I had been thinking about doing for a long time,” Peterson said in the news release. I always hoped to be in a position to be able to donate back to the University of Oklahoma and make it an even better place; do whatever I could to help the university that did so much for me. It was something that I always wanted to do and there just came a time when I got established and comfortable enough to make it happen. It was a no-brainer to do it and I am thankful that I’m in a position to give back to OU and to show my appreciation.”
It’s always great to see someone giving back to the community. Adrian Peterson realizes the impact that attending the University of Oklahoma had on his life, and he’s doing the right thing to give back.
It’s very refreshing to come across a truly good piece of news involving NFL players and money, something that rarely occurs in today’s greed filled world.
