Adrian Peterson Rushed to the Hospital
Minnesota Vikings running back Adrian Peterson has been in the news quite a bit for his health this off-season, but not for anything quite like this. The star running back had to be rushed to the hospital Monday, after having an allergic reaction to seafood at the team’s lunch.
Peterson’s face reportedly swelled up and he experienced shortness of breath.
Head Coach Leslie Frazier updated Peterson’s status:
“He’s doing fine. He’ll pick back up with his rehab (Tuesday). He’s been cleared. Everything’s back to normal now. Bit of a scare but he’s fine now.”
“He had mentioned there was a time early in his life where he had an allergic reaction to something, maybe not quite as severe as this.”
The Vikings, and apparently Peterson, were unaware of any major food allergies. There was no word on what type of seafood caused the reaction…
To say that Peterson has had a crazy off-season, would be a huge understatement. Since his season ended in week 16 last year, all people have done (including myself), is speculate if he will be ready to play week 1 this season.
Those hopes took a strange turn after Peterson was arrested in early July for resisting arrest. But those charges are pending and likely to be dropped, and the NFL decided not to suspend him…
When I saw the news he’d been taken to the hospital, I immediately thought, ACL!
I’m glad that he’s okay, and that he’ll be back to camp tomorrow working towards his goal of getting back on the field.
