San Francisco Giants Tim Lincecum Will Allow Padres to Help His Game

Prior to this season Tim Lincecum had struggled to find his dominant pitching style for quite a little while. The former San Francisco Giants ace came into the 2013 season hoping that the problem was the extra weight his long hair added to his delivery. Okay that isn’t true but he did change his image but it didn’t seem to start working for him, whatever all he changed, until the last outing against the San Diego Padres.

The Padres, nice organization that they are, decided to help Lincecum and Barry Zito find their former shutout, shut down pitching in the last series. Lincecum goes on Friday night to see if the Padres are willing to continue assisting the comeback process. He and the Giants really needed that sweep last week and now they need another one. It seems that the Padres are coming along for the Giants at the right time every time.

How great of them to make sure they lose every time they face the Giants. Perhaps sometime soon the shoe will be on the other foot and the Giants can lay down for the Padres. I should mention that I fully understand the Padres were trying to win and score runs. I in no way think they are losing to the Giants on purpose. However, I do believe that Lincecum and the Giants will benefit from another series win versus the struggling Padres.

At this point the Padres need to win a few games badly but the Giants aren’t exactly blowing people away. They could possibly come out with a win or two in this series but I really don’t see them doing it. The only plus they have is their home-field advantage. That honestly hasn’t mattered much this season however. Time will tell, as they say.
