This season has had to be frustrating for the Cleveland Indians. There are signs that they have all of the pieces that they need in order to really succeed. Nagging injuries and little miscues continue to leave them just outside of the thick of the race in the American League Central. They have a double header coming up on Sunday with the Kansas City Royals and they need to sweep it badly.
Sweeping a double header with the division leading Royals might seem like a daunting task for the Indians. Honestly it is quite daunting. Still it is possible and I will tell you why. They have Justin Masterson going in game one of the twin-bill. That is all of the reason you need for how they can win the first game. If Masterson is on they should only have to plate a few runs and be done with game one. Game two is a different story.
The Indians will call on Corey Kluber to grab the night-cap against the Royals Will Smith. Smith is having a great year with a WHIP under 1. That is always a great stat no matter what the record. Kluber has had some struggles in the early going of his career but has certainly shown a nice up-side. This season he is already off to a good start. A win against the first place Royals will be a great second step for Kluber and a big plus for the Indians. There is nothing like a double-header to get a team going.
