The Toronto Blue Jays just announced that they’ve recalled Anthony Gose from Triple-A Buffalo, just before their afternoon game against the Tampa Bay Rays. To make room in their roster the Jays optioned right- hander Mickey Storey to the Buffalo Bisons. Gose is the ninth player to be called up by the Jays this year.
The move came as a surprise to fans, media, and Gose himself. He said he didn’t expect it all, but is very glad for the opportunity. Gose has not had the best season in Triple- A, but his numbers are average across the board. He’s hitting .227 with a .343 OBP with two home runs.

Although he is known for his incredible speed, he is only five for nine on steal attempts this year, but one of those came from a clean steal of home which had the baseball world talking for days.
Gose played in 56 games last year with the Jays and impressed as a rookie. He hit over. 200 with 11 RBIs and 15 stolen bases. The only problem with Gose is that he’s an outfielder, and that’s the one position for the Jays where they are not lacking in.
Melky Cabrera, Jose Bautista, and Colby Rasmus are the everyday outfielders, with Rajai Davis playing a considerable amount in the field as well. With the injury to Davis and ongoing leg problems with Cabrera, Gose could potentially see some time in the field.
It should be interesting to see if John Gibbons will use him during today’s game against the Rays. Hopefully Gose will make a good impression and find his new home in Toronto for the remainder of the year.
