As the voting for the MLB All-Star Game nears an end it has become clear that the Oakland Athletics are going to be wrongly snubbed in a big way. Coco Crisp and Yoenis Cespedes are way down in outfield voting. Jed Lowrie had been great for the A’s but isn’t really on the radar at shortstop. Most terrible at all is the snubbing of Josh Donaldson at third base. Everyone including me has talked about everyone else starting the All-Star Game for the AL but Bartolo Colon has had as good of a first half as anyone. Where is his name?
So, the Athletics will get snubbed in large part at the All-Star Game. In other big surprising news, the sun plans to rise in the East tomorrow morning before setting in the West. Also shocking is the revelation that day and night will continue to be the most consistent platoon in world history. Forgive the attempt at humor but is this really news? So they are getting snubbed, so what?
They also had to share a locker room because literally the poop was rising in one of the clubhouses and yet still cannot get a new stadium deal. Everything in the world will be against the A’s all season long and yet they are going to probably win the AL West once again. They have been here before. Nowhere near enough A’s will be in the All-Star Game as should be. So what, get passed it A’s, enjoy your days off and clobber those All-Star groupies in the second half of the season. We all know you can do it.
