Kansas City Royals In Driver’s Seat In World Series
In a postseason that included one of the greatest single games in the history of sports and a record-breaking unbeaten streak, the Kansas City Royals’ confidence level is higher than ever before right now. Let that one sink in. Just as they did in the ALCS against the Baltimore Orioles, KC just bolstered their own mojo by winning games in their style.
Thanks to Jeremy Guthrie, who earned an impressive World Series win for his first ever postseason victory, along with Alcides Escobar and Eric Hosmer, who may have had the most pivotal plate appearance so far in this series, this season and perhaps the history of this franchise, the Royals are now in the driver’s seat of the 2014 Fall Classic, and there might not be anything to stop them at this point.
After ending the Royals’ remarkable postseason winning streak to get to the World Series, the Giants will now have to rely on Ryan Vogelsong to keep them from being pushed to the brink by Kansas City’s unique style.
Though an underdog coming into the 2014 season, this Royals team has been winning games since April with the formula of solid starting pitching, great defense, fantastic relief pitching and timely offense.
To see this club finally put it all together when it matters most is truly a beautiful experience – as long as you aren’t a Giants fan.
