The Kansas City Royals are coming off a huge Game 7 World Series loss. They are currently grieving after the hardest loss in at least three decades, but they must start to think about the future. They have ace pitchers and franchise players who are going to be free agents. These five players will not be back next season.

Jason Frasor got a win in Game 3 of the World Series. He is not part of the three-headed monster that is the Royals' bullpen, so he will be looked at as expendable. He will go to another team to gain a larger role.

The Royals traded for Nori Aoki last offseason, but he wasn't as good as they had hoped, hitting one home run on the season. He was worse in the playoffs. Now, he will have to find work with another team.

Despite being 35 years old and only hitting .215 this season, Josh Willingham will have no trouble finding work this offseason. He could have a chance to re-sign as a bench/platoon player, but it is more likely he will be wearing his sixth different uniform.

Luke Hochevar is one of those famous top picks that didn't work out for the Royals. He was chosen No. 1 overall in the 2006 draft but is not much more than a relief pitcher at this point. He is going to be coming off Tommy John surgery, so he may not be healthy to start the season. Either way, he will look to change his scenery and restart his career.

Billy Butler has been the face of the Royals franchise through good times and bad. Unfortunately, he has an option that is for $ 12.5 million next season that the Royals will not pick up. He will be given a better contract elsewhere thanks to the Royals spending all of their money to keep James Shields on the team.
