The Chicago Cubs are set to ramp things up this offseason. After many years of selling off veterans, spending little in free agency and stockpiling prospects, Theo Epstein and company are finally ready to make the Cubs back into a playoff contender.
To get back in contention the Cubs must add quality starting pitching. According to some reports, Chicago is engaged in talks with the Washington Nationals for SP Jordan Zimmermann. The rumored deal would involve the Cubs sending a top prospect (likely Javier Baez or Addison Russell) to D.C. in exchange for Zimmermann and his expiring contract.
However, not everyone is buying this rumor.
