The Detroit Tigers have already made a few splashes this offseason, the most notable one being the acquisition of Yoenis Cespedes. With the new year rapidly approaching and Spring Training not too far away, it is interesting to ponder what else GM Dave Dombrowski may still have up his sleeve. Without further ado, here are five players the Tigers could still look to move.

Earlier this offseason, there were rumors that the Tigers might be entertaining offers on catcher Alex Avila. Avila continues to play excellent defense, but has been scuffling with the bat since his All-Star campaign of 2011. Based on everything that has been reported, it appears that the Tigers are likely to go into 2015 with a platoon of Avila and James McCann. With Bryan Holaday still around, however, the team could still look to trade Avila.

Soon to be 24 years of age, outfield prospect Daniel Fields is not drawing the same type of attention he was last offseason. Back in 2013, Fields had a nice breakthrough campaign, hitting .284 with a .791 OPS in Double-A Erie. However, his 2014 season was hampered by a broken hand, and he batted only a combined .224 with a .643 OPS in stops in Rookie Ball, Double-A and Triple-A. Given his success in 2013, he may still have decent trade value.

3. Drew VerHagen

Last summer, there were many who were mentioning pitching prospect Drew VerHagen as a potential trade chip. VerHagen put together a very respectable season in Triple-A in 2014 and made one spot start for the Tigers in July, but his season was interrupted by a back ailment. With Kyle Lobstein seemingly in line to be the team's emergency starter, the Tigers may have enough insurance in that department to look to trade VerHagen.

2. Ian Krol

Ian Krol, who is now the last remaining piece from the Doug Fister trade, had a rather rough season in 2014, putting up a 4.96 ERA and a 1.68 WHIP in 45 games. Now that Phil Coke's tenure in Detroit is likely over, the Tigers do need another lefty in the bullpen to join Blaine Hardy, but there may be better candidates than Krol such as Kyle Ryan or Joe Mantiply. It may make sense for the Tigers to float Krol's name out there.

Last March, the Tigers acquired Andrew Romine from the Los Angeles Angels in exchange for left-handed pitcher Jose Alvarez. Although he did flash some leather at times, the now 29-year-old Romine largely underwhelmed, hitting just .227 with a .554 OPS in a 0.0 fWAR campaign. With Jose Iglesias hopefully set to return in 2015 and a guy like Hernan Perez likely to be in the mix, one could see the Tigers perhaps dealing Romine.
