Ranking the Top 10 MLB Lineups Heading Into 2015 Season

Years ago, the New York Yankees and Boston Red Sox continually boasted the best lineups in baseball year after year, but that is the case no longer. With a crazy offseason, many new teams have loaded up for a strong 2015. Here is a look at the top 10 lineups right now.

After finishing last season with no doubt the worst offense in the league, no one would have thought the San Diego Padres would have a top-flight offense in 2015. But with the addition of Justin Upton, Wil Myers, Matt Kemp and others, this team has quickly turned into an offensive Juggernaut. With all of the new moves, pitchers will no longer have a walk in the park when they visit the Padres.

Last year, Jose Abreu had a triumphant debut. Though he was almost by himself, he batted .317 while hitting 36 home runs and led the league in slugging percentage. With the new additions of Adam LaRoche and Melky Cabrera, this offense is sure to be among one of the best in the league. The rebuild in Chicago will happen much sooner than expected.

When the Brewers collapsed last season, it was mainly due to the offensive lack of hitting with runners in scoring position. As the season wound down, former MVP Ryan Braun's nagging thumb injury hampered his ability to drive the ball. This season, he has declared himself healthy and he is out to prove he can return to form. Adding his powerful bat with Jonathan Lucroy and Carlos Gomez makes them a threat each night.

One of the top priorities this winter for the Marlins was to add bats to team with Giancarlo Stanton. They have not only added a powerful bat like Michael Morse, but they have on-base threats in Martin Prado and Dee Gordon. With Stanton's powerful bat in the lineup for the next decade and a young core, expect them to stay on this list for a long time.

The Red Sox have made plenty of changes since last July and they are ready to make another run. Not only do they have Pablo Sandoval and Hanley Ramirez added to the mix, but a bounce-back year from a player like Allen Craig could help them to take hold of the division.

If Miguel Cabrera is healthy, the Tigers move right to the top of the list, but without him, the entire lineup is weakened. The addition of Yoenis Cespedes and re-signing of Victor Martinez will keep the lineup a force, but Cabrera still remains the key to their offense.

The Dodgers have lost Matt Kemp, but they are still scary at the plate. Another year of maturity of Yasiel Puig and the continued development of Joc Pederson gives them one of the best outfields in the game. Adding Jimmy Rollins to the top of the order gives the heart of the lineup a nice run-scoring threat.

Last season, the St. Louis Cardinals' offense took a step backward, but don't expect that to last long. Though Matt Holliday is still the biggest run producer, the new core of Matt Carpenter, Kolten Wong and Matt Adams are expected to be even better this year and the addition of Jason Heyward gives them another constant threat to score.

Since the Angels signed Albert Pujols, they have been at the top of this list. Though he initially failed to live up to expectations, he showed last year he is still elite. With underrated Cole Calhoun and the best player in baseball in Mike Trout, the Angels will not have trouble scoring.

The Blue Jays have had big bats for a long time, but this winter, they got even stronger. They not only added one of the best offensive catchers, Russell Martin, but also a power-hitting third base threat in Josh Donaldson. Adding these bats to a lineup with Jose Bautista and Edwin Encarnacion is a pitcher's nightmare. This team will easily lead all of baseball in long-balls.
