2015 Boston Red Sox Are Unwatchable

Can it get any worse? The Boston Red Sox looked like they were on the verge of making some sort of run before the All-Star break. They actually looked engaged and were exciting to watch. Then they proceeded to not play for about five days.

One would think that the break might have helped this team reboot and clear their heads. Nope, not this pile of mediocrity. This team comes out of the break, gets swept by the Los Angeles Angels and looks absolutely lifeless. They didn’t score a run for over thirty innings. That’s just awful.

Now they did face some good pitching, but Boston’s offense looked overmatched every step of the way. Mookie Betts and Dustin Pedroia aren’t hitting. Mike Napoli has never hit this season. Hanley Ramirez looks like a player who right now doesn’t seem too interested in anything. Don’t even get me started on the rotation.

The No. 1 pitcher at the moment, Eduardo Rodriguez is tipping pitches badly. Rick Porcello again hasn’t looked good at all, given with that enormous extension that was awarded to him before he threw a single pitch. Wade Miley has been the best of the bunch but he has also been inconsistent.

And in the meantime, fans are told by Boston ownership about how competitive this team can be. They didn’t get an ace and they didn’t get a bunch of quality relievers. Basically after Porcello, management did nothing.

The question has to be asked again. How much longer are fans expected to watch this?
