There’s nothing like a good ole fashioned Twitter beef.
On Monday, the New York Yankees and Chicago Cubs found themselves trading jabs on the uber-popular social media platform after a fan posted this innocent tweet that suggests Yankees Twitter is the better of the two accounts.
@Yankees Twitter account > @Cubs Twitter account

The Cubs responded with the following poll question.
Well now you’ve gone and done it. @liamgordd @Yankees
— Chicago Cubs (@Cubs) February 8, 2016
Not to be outdone, the Yankees immediately joined the festivities with this savage tweet.
We’re new to this poll thing @Cubs. Do the #Yankees have …

The Cubs are often mocked for being around forever yet winning just two rings, the last one coming in 1908. So you just know the Yankees couldn’t wait to bring up their 27 World Series wins.
The Cubs responded with a GIF of Joe Maddon and the following statement.
@Yankees Thought we were friends. pic.twitter.com/pSfTKn4iao

The Yankees appear to have mocked the statement with a GIF of Mariano Rivera smirking.
@Cubs Fine, friends. pic.twitter.com/xTfTNkIBZE

The Yankees were extra salty through the entire day on Monday. They also went after the Boston Red Sox while a hashtag in regards to Bobby Valentine was trending locally.
#BadValentineIn5Words: I’m a Red Sox fan. pic.twitter.com/REdgzIppF0

Clearly, the Red Sox were caught by surprise as well.
.@Yankees WHOA! We don’t remember asking. #Awkward pic.twitter.com/7MVlblWMm4

The Yankees surely aren’t doing much to help the reputation New Yorkers have for being loaded with braggadocio with these exchanges.
