The Chicago Cubs have a lot to be excited about as we begin spring training games this week. In addition to the swell folks in Las Vegas, most MLB analysts, experts and aficionados alike firmly believe the Cubs are the favorite to win the 2016 World Series.
This trend is a far cry from how the Cubs have been viewed for the better part of a generation.
Cubs manager Joe Maddon is known for being incredibly unique. He’s beloved by his players for his eccentric personality, but remains one of the greatest skippers in the league despite an unorthodox approach.
Thus, it likely came as a surprise to absolutely no one to see Maddon arrive to Cubs camp on Monday in an old-school conversion van while wearing a tie-dye t-shirt and stars-and-stripes bandanna.

Maddon’s players were excited to say the least.

Maddon is wisely setting a positive and fun tone early in camp with his “The family that plays together, stays together” approach. The Cubs appear to have enough talent and the ideal man in charge to lead the franchise to its first World Series win since 1908.
