The Toronto Blue Jays had a rather uneven start to the 2016 season. After winning the first two games of their four-game set with the Tampa Bay Rays, the Blue Jays looked the part of a team capable of returning to the ALCS. But with losses in their next two games, things didn’t look so promising. Obviously, time will tell how good the Blue Jays really are, but here are five wild overreactions to avoid regarding Toronto’s first four games of the season.

The Trop has a full roof, but that won't stop Josh Donaldson from making it rain.
With the Blue Jays down 3-2 and having the bases loaded in the ninth with one out against the Rays, this Jose Bautista slide was ruled an automatic double-play based on the new Chase Utley rule. It's probably the right call, but it's hard to say the innocuous grab fit within the spirit of the rule. This probably won't be the only controversial interpretation of the rule this season.
Kevin Pillar has become one of the best defensive outfielders in baseball, and he added to his growing personal highlight package with a spectacular lunging catch on Monday night.

The 2016 MLB season started with a showdown between the St. Louis Cardinals vs. Pittsburgh Pirates on Sunday afternoon, but not a single player hit a home run during the opener. In the second game between the Toronto Blue Jays and Tampa Bay Rays, Troy Tulowitzki clobbered a two-run shot off Ryan Webb for the first dinger of the season.
These are the biggest questions facing the Toronto Blue Jays heading into the 2016 season.
Toronto Blue Jays center fielder Kevin Pillar established himself as one of the best defensive outfielders in the game last season, and he's proving it once again. To be able to hit a moving target that small would be incredibly difficult, and Pillar nailed it on the second try. I'd advise base-runners to think twice before running on Pillar this year.
Josh Donaldson has some tough competition to be the best third baseman in baseball, but his 2015 season is just too much to ignore.
Here is a spring training prediction of what the Toronto Blue Jays' lineup may look like on opening day of 2016.
