After a down season last year, many weren't quite sure what to expect out of now-37-year-old Victor Martinez this season. So far, however, he has hit an impressive .319/.388/.625 with five homers.

Although most expected that Jarrod Saltalamacchia would do fine work as the Tigers' backup catcher this year, the injury to James McCann gave him an opportunity to do even more. Saltalamacchia currently leads the Tigers with six home runs.

While many expected him to do great work at the top of the Tigers' rotation, Jordan Zimmermann has been nearly flawless so far this year. Through three starts, he owns an 0.35 ERA and a 1.12 WHIP.
