Washington Nationals outfielder Bryce Harper went to the plate seven times against the Chicago Cubs on Sunday. He walked six times and got hit by a pitch once as he didn’t have an official at-bat in any of his seven plate appearances. In fact, Harper hasn’t had an official at-bat since Friday’s game after having 11 straight plate appearances that ended in a walk, HBP or sacrifice fly.
While I’m sure he was disappointed that the Cubs swept the Nationals during the four-game series, Harper didn’t let it stop him from completing a random act of kindness on Sunday following the loss.

There are a number of fans who can’t stand Harper because of his brash personality and his perceived cockiness. As a Nationals fan who has watched every game of his since he made his debut in 2012, Harper has certainly had his bouts with immaturity and anger, but his intent is never malicious and is rarely directed at anyone but himself.
Good for Harper for helping the less fortunate and giving back.
