Athletes, and in particular baseball players, are a very superstitious group. Los Angeles Dodgers outfielder Yasiel Puig is off to a slow start this year, so he went with an unconventional method to try to revive his bats.

After this ‘treatment method’ surfaced, Puig went 3-for-5 with a home run and two RBIs against the St. Louis Cardinals on Friday night. He followed that up with an 0-for-3 on Saturday, but sometimes the perception something works is enough for a baseball player to break out of a slump.
For some reason, Puig’s reverting to electronic stimulation for his bats reminded me of Pedro Cerrano in ‘Major League’. So enjoy this classic “hats for bats” bit from the film.
