Baltimore Orioles outfielder Adam Jones and Kansas City Royals first baseman Eric Hosmer led the U.S. to a comeback win over Venezuela in the World Baseball Classic on Wednesday.
The U.S. trailed 2-1 until Jones, who grew up just eight miles away from Petco Park in San Diego, tied things up with a massive dinger off Chicago Cubs pitcher Hector Rondon in the eighth inning.

Later in the inning, Hosmer put the U.S. ahead for good by pulverizing a Rondon offering over the wall in right-center.

The U.S. is now 1-0 in Pool F play, but still has two tough games to go against Puerto Rico and the Dominican Republic that will decide whether or not the Americans will advance.
