Tempers flared during the Boston Red Sox vs. Baltimore Orioles series this weekend.
On Friday, Orioles third baseman Manny Machado infuriated the Red Sox when he slid in high to second base and spiked Dustin Pedroia.

The Red Sox could have retaliated that night or on Saturday, but neglected to do so. However, on Sunday, reliever Matt Barnes threw a pitch aimed directly at Machado’s head that undoubtedly sent a message.
A rather fascinating exchange took place between Machado and the aforementioned Pedroia following Barnes’ ejection.
It appears as if Pedroia was telling Machado the pitch wasn’t premeditated by anyone other than Barnes.

I’m certainly not one of the world’s premier and foremost lip readers, but it surely seems like Pedroia says:
“It wasn’t me, if we were going to hit you we would have hit you that night.”
These two teams absolutely despise each other, so you can expect their remaining 10-plus games this season to be incredibly intense.
