It’s rare for guys not to get embarrassed by Washington Nationals ace Max Scherzer this season, but it’s even rarer for opposing batters to humiliate the man on the mound.
But on Friday evening, the Arizona Diamondbacks actually humbled the seemingly invincible Scherzer by taking him deep for back-to-back-to-back jacks to begin the game.
Back-to-back-to-back @dbacks.
First David Peralta, then A.J. Pollock, and then Jake Lamb took Scherzer yard for a bombastic start to the bottom of the first inning in Arizona.
These two teams destined for the MLB Playoffs would provide a dream matchup in the opening round come October.
