Not much was expected from Cincinnati Reds second baseman Scooter Gennett this season, as the Reds are in the middle of a rebuild and don’t project to win many games with the players on their roster over the next few years.
Instead of going through the motions and not giving much effort every game, Gennett’s played incredibly well hitting .280 with 21 HR and 74 RBI.
On Saturday night, Gennett tied a Reds single-season record when he his third grand slam of the season.
