Umpire Forced to Leave Game After Taking Warmup Pitch Directly to the Junk

A lot of times, umpires will get in their stance to watch a few warmup pitches from the starting pitcher to get a feel for things.

On Tuesday night, home-plate umpire Mike Everitt was doing just that in the middle of the first inning.

Unfortunately, a cutter got away from Tigers starter Michael Fulmer and caught Everitt right in the giblets.
