Stockholm, Sweden – Madadi saved a toddler’s life from drowning Friday, August 3rd The Mixed Martial Artist had been kayaking in the Stockholm Archipelago and was about to buy lunch at a restaurant in Hornsberg, When he witnessed a child of one and a half years old falling from a nearby pier Into the Sea. The child’s father quickly dove in to help save his son.

Back when mixed martial arts was in its infancy in the United States in the late 1990′s, the sport was perceived as human cock fighting, with the fighters being these barbarians who want nothing better to do than destroy each other in the cage.

Although many fighters engage in trash talking with their opponents before they engage in vicious combat, many fighters are good people when they are outside of the cage. Madadi’s act of heroism is just one of several good deeds MMA fighters have performed in the last two years.

Some other notable deeds recently performed by UFC fighters include:

UFC Interim Welterweight champion Carlos Condit – Back in April, Condit received a letter from Sean Hiler, father of Max Hiler, who was going in for brain surgery. Rather than send an autograph like Sean expected, Condit boarded a plane to San Antonio, Texas to spend time with the Max.

UFC middleweight fighter Nick Ring – While leaving a Starbucks, Ring spotted a couple of who were being beaten by a group of people. After checking on the victims, Ring and another person who saw the fight chased after the gang before Ring called 911.

UFC Light Heavyweight champion Jon Jones – Prior to making the news with his recent arrest and rivalry with former teammate Rashad Evans, Jones made the news the very day he won the light heavyweight title from Mauricio “Shogun” Rua in March 2011, by subduing a criminal with a leg sweep before his trainers arrived on the scene.
