With UFC 151 approaching fast, many are wondering who will win? Besides the Anderson Silva VS Chael Sonnen fight, this bout might be the most anticipated fight of 2012. Everyone loves to watch Jon Jones fight and Dan Henderson is a huge fan favorite. Below are my Jon Jones VS Dan Henderson Predictions.
Going into this fight, many are saying that Jones is already the best fighter in the world. He has dominated every opponent he has faced since winning the title. Jones has excellent stand-up and can attack from any angle. His long limbs allow him to keep a distance and fire away. His stand-up isn’t his only strength though, he has showcased a great submission game, with submission wins over Quinton Jackson and Lyoto Machida.
On the other side of the octagon is Dan Henderson. Henderson will be turning 42 years old this week and is determined to beat the young gun. Henderson has experience in championship fights and has proved he could fight for five full rounds. But does he really think he can keep up to the much younger Jones? Everyone starts to show decline eventually and it wouldn’t surprise me if he struggles to keep up in rounds three to five, or if he even makes it that far. There is one thing Henderson does have on Jones though, Henderson without a doubt has the superior knockout power and can end a fight with just one punch.
If I had to put money on this fight, I would most likely go with Jones.Henderson is a great fighter and he is one of my favorite’s, but I just don’t see him being able to get comfortable enough to land that big shot. Jones will keep his distance and throw strikes to keep Henderson off-balance. I think that Henderson’s age will begin to show midway through the fight and Jon Jones will finish him via TKO in the 5th round. I do not see this fight being close at all and would be shocked if Jones lost.
