Dan Henderson UFC

A great light heavyweight bout takes place this Saturday in Brazil between heavy-hitters Dan Henderson and Vitor Belfort. Both have squared off with each other in the past, where Henderson was able to get the unanimous decision. A lot has changed since these two fought each other. Both have fought for different promotions, such as Affliction, Pride and Strikeforce.

Belfort has revitalized his career as of late. In his latest two outings, he was able to win by way of head kick against Michael Bisping and Luke Rockhold. His latest knockout was particularly impressive, as he was able to land a spinning wheel kick, which is just a testament to the type of improvements Belfort has made in his kicking game. He is more than likely going to get the next middleweight title shot if he can beat Henderson, so his will to win will be at an all time high.

Henderson, however, has been on a cold streak as of late. He has lost his last two bouts to Lyoto Machida and Rashad Evans, and he desperately needs a win if he wants to be a serious contender in the light heavyweight division, where Jon Jones reigns supreme. Henderson is one of the most experienced fighters under the UFC banner, and he has one of the most powerful punches (his right) in all of fighting. He’s also an Olympic caliber of athlete in terms of the wrestling, which may be the best path to victory for Henderson.
