UFC on Fox 10: Ben Henderson vs. Josh Thomson Has ‘Fight Of The Night’ Potential
Josh Thomson is set to face Ben Henderson in what should be an incredible lightweight bout. Originally, Thomson was set to face Anthony Pettis for the lightweight title, but an injury forced Pettis out of the fight. Now, Thomson gets a stern test in Henderson, and both fighters will be looking to get an impressive win in hopes of getting a title shot.
This lightweight bout will take place at UFC on Fox 10, which is shaping up to be a great card. On paper, this has the chance to be the Fight of the Night. Both are known for pushing a relentless pace on their opponents, and both are really well-rounded fighters. Henderson comes into this fight off a submission loss to Pettis which cost him his belt.
He will be looking to prove he’s still a championship-caliber of fighter, so his motivation will be at an all-time high. Thomson comes into this bout off a dominating KO win over Nate Diaz. It was one of Thomson’s best performances to date, showcasing his dynamic striking skills. In terms of a stylistic matchup, this bout is going to be amazing.
Whether it’s on the feet or on the ground, both have the skills to finish the fight. It should be non-stop action from the beginning to the end, and the winner takes a huge step in the lightweight rankings and could potentially get a lightweight title shot. So, who holds the edge in the bout? Will Thomson keep his momentum going, or will Henderson reassert himself back into a spot for a title shot?
