Irish UFC star Conor McGregor is clearly a man of his word. Seeing McGregor shock this fan by keeping his promise to visit him in Los Angeles perfectly exemplifies that statement. This video is simply awesome.
If you’re wondering what’s next for UFC featherweight champion Conor McGregor it doesn’t seem like it will be a featherweight title fight. According to MMAfighting the UFC is working on lining up a McGregor versus Nate Diaz welterweight rematch for the main event of UFC 200 in July.
We know UFC featherweight champion Conor McGregor loves to talk trash before and even during his fights. So when McGregor went in on Nate Diaz during the lead up to their fight at UFC 196 no one was surprised. McGregor’s attempt to clown Diaz for teaching kid’s jiu-jitsu classes fell flat for many especially former UFC welterweight champion and Brazilian jiu-jitsu black belt Matt Serra.
We have our first update as to how ready Ronda Rousey is to get back into the Octagon she’s biting into apples. After a brutal kick from Holly Holm Rousey was left with stitches in her lip and some dental damage. "It might be three to six months before I can eat an apple let alone take an impact” Rousey told ESPN The Magazine. Now with Rousey able to eat solid fruit speculation will ramp up around her return to the Octagon and make a run back at the bantamweight title.
New champ Miesha Tate took a trip down to the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department to pay a visit to the officer that was on stage during her weigh-in for UFC 196. The officer had a wandering eye so the champ decided to get some payback. Tate made the officer re-enact the incident out in public.
It’s safe to say that UFC’s Nate Diaz is not a Belieber. Following Conor McGregor’s first-ever UFC defeat at UFC 196 on Saturday Justin Bieber took to Instagram to show his support to McGregor claiming Diaz’s style is terrible. It did not go unnoticed by Diaz who came back with an Instagram post of his own. Check it out.
George St-Pierre may be warming up to the idea of a return to the UFC and after attending Saturday’s UFC 196 event it looks like he has an opponent in mind for that return fight—Nate Diaz. Well at least that’s what it looked like judging by two tweets that Firas Zihabi St-Pierre’s head coach at Montreal’s Tristar Gym sent out over the last two days.
Prior to Saturday’s UFC 196 main event Conor McGregor predicted that he would defeat his opponent Nate Diaz via knockout before the end of Round 1. That prediction did not come to fruition but it wasn’t due to lack of trying. McGregor in defeat was humble though. “It’s a bitter pill to swallow" McGregor said in the post-fight press conference. "I took a shot. I went at it. I feel that I was simply inefficient with my energy. Usually I fight a man in the division I am champion in and they crumble under those shots but Nate took them very well. “This is the game” McGregor continued. “We win some; we lose some. I will never shy away from a challenge. I will never shy away from defeat. This is part of the game.”
If you wanted to know whom Miesha Tate the new UFC women’s bantamweight champion was going to face in her first title defense UFC president Dana White didn’t make you wait long. “I think that Ronda (Rousey) will now fight Miesha Tate for the title. That’s what’s going to happen” White told ESPN shortly after Tate’s win.
For any regular guy, Miesha Tate's butt is a sight to behold, but there's something funny about catching a police officer on video unable to keep his eyes off the prize. While there is a certain amount of professionalism that goes along with being a cop, in the end, we're all just lowly guys.
The hate for Conor McGregor is real.
