On Saturday night, Manny Pacquiao defeated Timothy Bradley by unanimous decision in the rubber match between these two fighters. Pacquiao showed he still had power in his punch and the ability to fight at the highest level, but the 37-year-old still announced his retirement following the victory.
“As of now I am retired. I am going to go home and think about it but I want to be with my family. I want to serve the people.”
Pacquiao has served as a congressman in his native Philippines since 2010 and is currently running for senator. While he says he’s turning his focus to politics, many expect Pacquiao to return to the ring at some point.
Following the win over Bradley, Pacquiao took to Twitter to thank his wife Jinkee.
Through thick and thin. Always by my side no matter what. To God be the glory. pic.twitter.com/bGuHo8YVbw
