Cody Garbrandt entered his bout against undefeated Brazilian Thomas Almeida as a pretty significant underdog. He was a promising prospect, but this was definitely the biggest fight of his career against the most difficult opponent he’s ever faced. None of the experts gave him much of a shot, but that didn’t stop him from dominating the fight and ending it in the first round.

What an impressive performance for the 24-year-old. It’ll be interesting to see who the UFC matches him up against during his next fight. Garbrandt’s earned another stiff opponent with this performance.
