Brad Keselowski is Engaging Twitter Fans with his Camping World Truck Series Entry for Daytona
Brad Keselowski will be driving the No. 19 Brad Keselowski Racing RAM Truck in the season-opening NASCAR Camping World Truck Series race at Daytona International Speedway on Friday, February 24th. Brad Keselowski has been an active participant in the banter between NASCAR drivers and fans on Twitter. As part of that he wanted to further engage his fans and followers on Twitter in the real sense of Truck racing.
“During the off-season, I have been putting a lot of thought into how to further engage with the fans,” said Keselowski. “Social media and Twitter in particular, is an important tool for NASCAR, for the drivers, and for the sponsors.”
He held a contest where fans on Twitter could follow Brad @keselowski and some of his sponsors @ReeseTowpower and @CooperStandard on Twitter then retweet an entry with the first 5000 being selected on the truck. As shown in the picture they are on the deck lid. Ten additional lucky fans will be prominently featuring five on each side of the truck. All of the contest winners will receive an autographed photo of Keselowski with the Truck. The ten who are on the side of the truck will receive an personalized autograph of Keselowski standing next to their twitter handle.
Unlike the NFL and the NBA, the NASCAR community has embraced Twitter. This has been building in intensity for over 6 months and Brad Keselowski’s involvement has been there from the start. His Twitter truck is only the beginning of an ever increasing presence of NASCAR drivers interacting with fans via Twitter. There is no other sport where a fan almost nightly and/or daily can find not only drivers but crew chiefs and media to converse with directly. Keselowski put it this way “Twitter represents a fun way for me to communicate with our sport’s fans. Hopefully I can take that fun to the next level and bring all of them to victory lane In Daytona!”
The NextEra Energy Resources 250 will air live on SPEED Channel, Friday, February 24th at 7:30 pm ET.
