Getting To The 200th win Is The Goal For The No. 11 Team And Hendrick Motorsports
Wins mean a lot in NASCAR especially if it’s a milestone win. For The No.11 team and for Hendrick Motorsports getting that 200th win will mean the most.
Since the 2011 season Hendrick Motorsports has been in the quest for their 200th Sprint Cup win. Their last win came when Jimmie Johnson won the Hollywood Casino 400 at Kansas back in October.
For the No.11 team and Denny Hamlin getting the 200th win in the 11 car sets an important milestone for the most winning car in NASCAR. Hamlin has won two races this season so far, with his last one being at Kansas.
Both Hamlin and Hendrick Motorsports got their last wins at Kansas and both are looking for that milestone win. Talladega is their next opportunity, with the Hendrick drivers having a better chance at a win than Hamlin.
Heading into Talladega Jimmie Johnson, Jeff Gordon and Dale Earnhardt Jr have won at the track many times. Gordon has an average finish of 16.3 with Johnson averaging 16.9 and Dale Jr with a 15.0. Kasey Kahne’s average finish is just outside the top 20 with a 21.9.
Hamlin’s average finish at Talladega is a 17.8 with his best finish being fourth. He accomplished it twice back in the 2007 fall race and the 2010 spring race.
Heading into Talladega the odds favor Hendrick Motorsports but Denny Hamlin isn’t that far behind. Hamlin has contended for Top Ten finishes as of late but Dale Jr has been there as well. Dale Jr heads into Talladega as a favorite to win and hoping to end a long streak since his last win.
