Eric McClure Makes First Appearance Since Accident In Talladega
About a week after the ten-car accident in Talladega, Eric McClure made his first media appearance at Darlington Raceway.
McClure, who was sidelined from friday’s NASCAR Nationwide Series race at Darlington, spoke to the media about his condition.
During his press conference Friday afternoon, McClure told the media that he doesn’t remember much from the race but that he remembers the car’s brakes failing. Before the accident at Talladega, McClure was in the running for a possible top ten finish.
The race at Talladega was red flagged for 19 minutes while McClure was being assisted out of his car. The roof of the No. 14 car had to be cut open in order to get him out. He was taken to the hospital and was released two days later.
McClure’s return to the Nationwide Series is unknown at the moment since he has to get medically cleared.
Jeff Green sat in the No. 14 car for Friday night’s Nationwide Race replacing McClure, Green finished 19th.
