Matt Kenseth continues to dominate at Daytona International Speedway this season.
Kenseth qualified for Saturday night’s Coke Zero 400 on the pole. He heads into the race as the reigning winner at the track. The 2012 Daytona 500 champion will be looking forward to sweeping both Daytona races this season.
This is Kenseth’s first pole of the season and has secured his spot in next year’s Shootout at Daytona. Although his spot for the 2013 shootout is secured, this Saturday night will be the last time Kenseth races at the two mile track in Daytona for Roush Fenway Racing.
Kenseth’s plans for the 2013 season have not been revealed but he has told the press he does have a team for next season.
Joining Kenseth on the front row Saturday night is the 2011 Sprint Cup Series Champion Tony Stewart. Ryan Newman and Kasey Khane will be starting in the second row. Rounding out the top ten are Greg Biffle, Jeff Gordon, Bill Elliott, Casey Mears, AJ Allmendinger, and last week’s Kentucky winner Brad Keselowski.
Denny Hamlin was the only driver who did not have any practice time on the track this week, qualified 24th.
